Process
Part of 1:Internal Organs
In this chapter, I mainly introduce
1: One of the main materials of "Naked" - the cultivation of kombucha fungus.
2: The components of "Naked" - the material experiment and production
process of internal organs
01 Make Models
During this period I wanted to make a work with human internal organs ,and I started to try to turn various materials into the shape of internal organs models.
02 Culture Pellicle
-
The growth of the kombucha mother, or 'scoby', is a process of growth spanning fourteen days to 3 weeks depending on environmental conditions, reaching a thickness of seven to twelve millimeters.
-
Since this is the first time I have cultivated kombucha, the material selection this time was like a gamble due to the long growth time.If my canning jar is contaminated, my material cultivation progress will be slowed down.
Contaminated jar
It produces a lot of air bubbles and does not thicken easily
A thin pellicle will form on the surface after 1 weeks if in a clean jar.
After 4 weeks
03-1 Dyeing experiment
03-2 Dyed
Kombucha dyed with kale will look different depending on how long it is steeped
04 Finished Product
-
When the kombucha covering the surface of the transparent plastic mold dries, the whole will appear translucent.
When the internal organs was done, I started the skin part.
